MSI Wind 12 U200 netbook lands in the UK

The MSI Wind 12 U200 netbook, a 12-inch liliputer with a HD screen, has just been given the green light to go on sale here in the UK. Read on for the specs – they make a refreshing change from the usual stale Atom set up, trust us.

Nokia Booklet 3G aside, it’s been all quite on the netbook front for a while, but the MSI Wind 12 U200 has got the kit to claim a spot on your wishlist this Christmas. Its 12.1-inch screen clocks in at a 1,366×768 resolution, and MSI is so confident its integrated graphics will handle 720p video that it’s stuck a HDMI out port on the MSI Wind 12 U200 too.

Elsewhere under the bonnet on the MSI Wind 12 U200, you’ll find a 320GB hard drive, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, an Intel CULV 1.4GHz processor and Windows 7 running atop it all.

MSI’s touting the MSI Wind 12 U200 netbook’s display as frameless, although that means the bezel runs smoothly into the screen rather than all those liquid crystals just floating about in the ether. Still, it’s a tasty little number, even if it’s approaching the size where we’d like to see an optical drive included. The MSI Wind 12 U200 is out this month in black or white for £399.
