We’ve heard whispers about the Sony Ericsson Kurara Symbian follow up to the Satio before, as well as hints straight from the company itself that its clever new Rachael UI could be pasted over the top, but now more specs and pics have leaked. Want a hybrid Xperia X10/Satio phone? The Kurara is it.
Word broke out last month that the Sony Ericsson Kurara would be on show at next February’s mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but GSM Arena has snagged a few pics and details. It’ll continue the camera heritage of the Satio with an at least 8MP sensor that shoots 720p HD video too, same Arm processors at the Satio, HSPA and GPS, but a smaller 3.2-inch screen.
Sony Ericsson’s useless proprietary FastPort is also gone on the Sony Ericsson Kurara in favour of the standard 3.5mm audio and microUSB for connectivity and charging, so it looks like the company’s finally got the message on that one.
Sony Ericsson Kurara: Satio-alike touchscreen coming 2010
Unfortunately, the screens don’t confirm if Timescape and Mediascape are onboard the Sony Ericsson Kurara, but we’re struck by how closely it resembles the Android fuelled Xperia X10: it’s got the same curved lines, thin row of physical buttons and lacks the chunky, cheap look of the Satio.
Let’s hope the Sony Ericsson Kurara leaks turn into a flood, as it could force Sony Ericsson to out it before February – rest assured we’ll be following this one throughout.
