Paramount flogs limited edition USB films!

Collectors, get keen: Paramount has just pushed out two new limited edition USB keys, complete with copies of the films they celebrate onboard, Star Trek, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Didn’t Paramount get the memo about non-physical media?

Paramount’s digital arm has just announced these two special edition 4GB USB sticks, which come with the films on board in DivX, ready to be burned onto DVD and defeat the whole point of buying them in the first place. Of course, if you’ve got a USB and DivX friendly TV, Blu-ray player or console, you can play it straight back on them, as well as on your PC or Mac.

Paramount is only releasing limited runs of both sticks, with just 20,000 of each available. The Star Trek Paramount USB key is out now, while the Autobot Transformer key will go on sale from 30 November. Anyone fancy paying £20 for one of these? We think we’ll stick to Xbox streaming instead.

Where can I get these if I live in Canada?

You should be able to ship them from Play.com when stock comes in, but drop them an email to double check – the FAQ says it ships CDs, books, games and DVDs globally. Not 100% sure if the USB sticks count!
