Facebook is coming to Playstation 3 as part of firmware update v3.10. Sony has confirmed that it’s coming on the official Playstation blog and it could be here as soon as Thursday if previous leaks are to be believed.
We told you a few days back that Facebook was set to arrive on your PS3 but now Sony‘s gone and made it official.
PS3 firmware update v3.10 will add Facebook as an option on the menu and link your Playstation Network account to your Facebook account.
By tying your Playstation Network account to Facebook, you’ll the option to share your awesome PS4 skills with your friends. Trophy and Playstation Store activity will pop up in status updates if you choose to let your PS3 speak for you.
PS3 firmware v3.10 will also let you check your updates and your friends updates directly from your console. Sony promises that Facebook integration will go much further in the future.
Meanwhile, other new features added with PS3 firmware v3.10 include expanding the Photo category to allow you to see more of the photos you’ve stored on your console and improvements to the Playstation Network Friends List.
