Microsoft will launch its Zune brand in the UK and Europe for the first time tomorrow, rebadging the movie service on Xbox Live with the media portal’s moniker to go with Twitter and Facebook‘s arrival on the consoles’ latest dashboard update.
Announced back in May, the Zune store will see instant streaming of movies on the Xbox 360 arrive for the very first time. It’s also the first time Microsoft has ever used the Zune brand anywhere outside of North America, marking the next step in its plan to take on the dominant player in the media and player market, Apple.
Zune for Windows Mobile primed
Unfortunately, there are still zero official plans to bring the Zune HD, Microsoft’s gorgeous OLED rival to the iPod touch, over here too, but the computing giant has yet to completely rule it out either so we remain hopeful.
The Xbox dashboard update bringing Zune to the UK arrives tomorrow, so stay tuned for a full preview soon.
