We’re still waiting for an iPhone app that turns your handset into a real working broomstick, but in the meantime, muggles will find a new Harry Potter iPhone app kills the time until that day arrives. It’s a new app that sees you blasting out spells with your iPhone or iPod touch, with multiplayer duelling thrown in.
New on the iPhone App Store, the Harry Potter iPhone app lets you cast 14 spells with a wave of your wand/iPhone, including book favourites Expelliarmus of Stupefy. As in the stories, it takes practice to throw them properly, and there are tutorials and a ranking system to show who’s the strongest “wizard”.
TomTom iPhone app gets bumper upgrade
Gimmicky? Sure, but the Harry Potter iPhone app’s big bonus is multiplayer, so if you’ve got a similarly armed friend, you can duel each other. Hey, it’s got more longevity than a shotgun pump loading iPhone app.
