iTunesStill holding out on trying iTunes or just need to let someone who doesn’t have it know about a song you like in the iTunes Store? Up until now you’d have have had to install the iTunes software to see the music lurking in the iTunes Store. But no longer, thanks to iTunes Preview.

Apple launched iTunes Preview with little or no fanfare. Send someone a link to a song on the store now and they’ll be able to see it and the rest of the iTunes catalogue without having to download the iTunes software.

You can access iTunes preview wither by visiting the iTunes Charts page or through any link generated by the iTunes Store’s “Copy Link” feature.

The one downside is that it’s not actually possible to actually listen to tracks through iTunes Preview. It’s more, iTunes Peek. You can also preview apps, films and TV shows via the iTunes Preview panel on the iTunes Charts page.
