Facebook on PS3We’ve known Xbox Live is set to get Twitter and Facebook integration since June (though it hasn’t actually appeared yet) but now it seems like Sony wants the PS3 to get in on the action with its own Facebook app. Read on to find out whether you’ll be poking friends from your PS3 soon…

In what seems to be an unintentional leak, eagle-eyed Sony watchers got an early glimpse at a major Sony PS3 firmware update which seems to include a Facebook application in the console.

Besides the appearance of Facebook on PS3, the images also show the ability to…change “gamer card” colour and view thumbnails of photos in a grid layout. Hmmm…not so fascinating.

With Facebook already safety nestled on iPhones and Android and ready to pop up on Xbox 360, it seems a smart bet that the PS3 will be next. However, don’t expect Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to tell you, it “doesn’t comment on rumour or speculation.”
