Acer Aspire One Android netbook unboxed!

It’s been a full year since Google’s mobile OS launched, but the first Android netbook to hit UK shores, the Acer Aspire One D250, is finally here. We’ve just had one flop through the letterbox, so come check it busting out of its box right here in our gallery!

Nothing is new here on the hardware front with the Acer Aspire One D250. The thin slice of mini laptop has been knocking around for a few months, but the big deal is that it dual boots with Windows 7 and Android, the logic being nippy boot times and app integration in the OS you don’t get on Windows without heavy tweaking

Acer Aspire One Android netbook: hands-on photos!

Set up is easy on the Acer Aspire One Android netbook: you’ll boot into Windows 7 at first, but once there, you can set it to load up in Android by default, and it certainly fires up quick. Just one slight, crippling flaw with the Acer Aspire One D250 Android netbook though: there’s no Gmail. Or Google Market. Sure, the other Google apps are present and accounted for, but no easy access to third party apps and no integrated messaging? Oh my.

Still, the Acer Aspire One D250 is the first of its kind to go commercial, so we’ll be putting it through its paces nonetheless. Stay tuned for a full review, and in the meantime, check out the unboxing piccies right here!
