The iPhone hits Orange today, and while Vodafone has to wait until next year to sell Apple’s handset, it’s not doing so patiently. It’s thrown down the gauntlet to Orange and O2, claiming its network delivers significantly quicker results using an iPhone. Read on for the details.
According to our buddies at FoneHome, Vodafone has starting sending e-mail alerts to anyone who pre-registered interest in the iPhone, but instead of picking a fight on pricing it’s highlighting network speeds.
iPhone available on Orange from today!
Vodafone reckons its own speeds show O2 and Orange lagging behind. When watching a 10 minute YouTube clip through the iPhone, Vodafone says its results left rivals in the dust.
We’ve yet to see evidence for Vodafone’s claims, but with Orange selling the handset from today, and O2 allowing customers to unlock their handsets we’ve a feeling it won’t take long for independent tests to surface.
Out 2010 (on Vodafone) | £TBC | Via FoneHome
