Apple has released Mac OS X 10.6.2, a 473MB mega-update for Mac OS X Snow Leopard, which fixes performance issues with the new iMac and includes a ton of other fixes and feature updates. Read on to find out why it’s worthy of installation…
As well as addressing the bizarre data loss issue when logging into OS X Snow Leopard through a guest account, OS X 10.6.2 fixes issues with Exchange contacts appearing in Spotlight results, and fixes video playback and performance issues for the latest iMacs.
There’s a fistful of font fixes too, some graphics glitches have been ironed out and problems with connecting additional screens via DVI or Mini DisplayPort adaptors should be sorted by the OS X 10.6.2 update.
There’s also some love for MobileMe, with speeded up access times for iDisk and improved synching via MobileMe, iTunes and iSync.
The Mac OS X 10.6.2 update is available now for free, and your Mac should have started badgering you to install it already. If you’re using regular OS X Leopard, there’s a 144MB update waiting for you too, delivering security patches galore!
