The era of iPhone exclusivity is over. Starting today, you’ll now be able to pick up the Apple phone on both O2 and Orange, and with more competition to come, we’re looking at another sales splurge to match the iPhone 3Gs launch. In fact, Carphone Warehouse, the only shop to sell the iPhone on both networks, is so sure of this, it claims it’ll stroll past the 1million handsets sold mark before Christmas.
As of today, you’re able to walk into any Orange or Carphone Warehouse shop or click over to their online stores and pick up an iPhone 3G or 3Gs on the network, after two years of iPhone exclusivity on O2.
Such is the anticipated demand, Carphone Warehouse CEO Andrew Harrison has predicted that it “will push our total iPhone sales past the one million mark.” And remember, that figure doesn’t even count all the iPhones sold through O2 and Apple stores, showing just how rabid demand is.
