Comments on: Channel 4 offers free specs for 3D week

I would have loved to have taken part in the 3D experience, but the nearest Sainsbury’s is 15 miles away, it’s not worth a gallon of petrol just to obtain a pair of 10p specs – surely, Channel 4 could have provided a much better distribution system than this?

Can’t find 3d specs anywhere, I would make some, but I think the colours are important. Maybe there’s a website
PS those people in the picture look scary with the 3D specs.

Hate to break this to you Tommo, but Channel 4 3D Week used ColourCode specs: They’re amber and blue, not blue and red. Might be why it looked rubbish to you!

Don’t bother…. the 3D effect is total rubbish on all programs. Friday the 13th part 3 in 3D was the best ever 3D film IN THE CINEMA and it is totally rubbish on tv with the red/green version 3d specks. The original AND BEST transparent no colour cinema 3d specks work great… but the 3d effect that really works is via twin projectors in the cinema… red/blue just doesn’t cut it at all!

All Sainsbury’s within ten miles of us had run out by Mid-day Saturday (14th NOV). When I phoned I was told that they would not be getting anymore. So that’s stuffed that then! Unless anyone knows where else they are obtainable?

I think the Radio Times should have anounced it in the week befores issue, to give people more time, and Sainsbury’s more time to re-stock.

Very poor planing.

Maybe Jim. Channel 4 are using the ColorCode 3-D system. The glasses should say that on them somewhere if they’re compatible. They’ll have one blue lens, and one which looks amber/brown. Good luck!
