Doom 3id Software’s John Carmack has been talking Doom 3 and Fallout and reveals that both games could make their way to the iPhone 3GS. Read on and get excited…

Carmack says it took “maybe six weeks” to port Doom to the iPhone. He believes the game works on every iPod Touch and iPhone ever made. But to bring Doom 3 to the iPhone, he’d need to focus on the iPhone 3GS.

“I think we could do the real Xbox Doom 3 game on a 3GS,” Carmack notes. “That is pushing it a bit but you could probably get that kind of visual fidelity.”

Carmack has also revealed that Fallout may come to the iPhone. A demo has been developed but both he and Fallout developer (and id’s parent company), Bethesda, are currently tied up with other products.

With Wolfenstein RPG, Doom Resurrection and Doom all pretty impressive, the idea of Doom 3 and Fallout hitting the iPhone 3GS is genuinely exciting.
