Flickr has had an open API since 2004 to allow developers to create photo-focused applications. But now it’s launched a place to find all those homegrown apps in one place – the App Garden. Read on to find out what Flickr’s been planting…
Flickr’s new App Garden provided an organised place for app designers to show off their work. An app in the App Garden can be a free standing website, a desktop app or smartphone software.
Apps in the Flickr App Garden are tagged to make them easy to search for. The range of apps is pretty wide with lots of different ways to manage, view and mess around with Flickr content.
Flickr’s App Garden doesn’t have a formal approval process like Apple’s iTunes App Store but Flickr does ask developers to stick to the community guidelines and copyright restrictions.
