Most of the interesting discussion on this took place last month, when that message first appeared. Adobe.com gets three million visits a month from iPhone users seeking a Player download. But until Safari supports plugins, and until Apple approves its installation, there's no way to help them.

The blogosphere echo-chamber today is pretty fierce on such old news... your post is pretty moderate in comparison, thanks!

I'd say 12/10 mice that aren't made by Apple are better than its efforts. Not sure that's true of much else it makes though.

“Flash Player not available for your device. Apple restricts use of technologies required by products like Flash Player. Until Apple eliminates these restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flash Player for the iPhone or iPod.”

My opinion is Adobe's words are unprofessional and counterproductive. In addition, although I would like the option to view flash, on the web sites that I usually frequent it is used for advertising…so I am not missing much. Of course, that is only my opinion.

Apple use to be about something other than profit, that was many many years ago. Now they go against everything they stood for in the early days thats why I have avoided all apple products like the plague, that and the fact that for 8/10 products they have, there are actual better choices out there.

I'm usually the first to bemoan Apple's walled garden approach, but I can almost see why it's focusing on HTTP streaming for video instead of Flash. Still, I'd also like to be able to have all bases covered. Chop chop Cupertino!
