The Motorola Milestone is official, and winging its way on a plane to Europe right now. There’s just one little catch: it looks like the renamed Droid won’t be hitting the UK in the first batch of territories. Will we even get it in time for Christmas?
The Motorola Milestone has just popped up on Motorola’s Western Europe page, hours after snaps were discovered hidden away on O2 Germany’s site. The Motorola Milestone specs are largely intact, with 3G, GPS and a 3.7-inch screen all matching the Droid. The main difference is the loss of Google’s free Navigation app (which we knew was US only already) and the surprise addition of multitouch pinch zooming.
Motorola Milestone launch date revealed
The Motorola Milestone is currently badged up as Coming Soon, but there’s a little clause in the fineprint to that: “Arriving in Germany and Italy soon.” We spoke to Motorola UK to check if Moto has wider continental plans, but it was keeping schtum, giving us the same ambiguous statement as last week.
We’ll let you know if and when the Motorola Milestone gets launched in the UK, but if the US company can’t see to an announcement soon, it’ll miss the lucrative Christmas sales rush. Stay tuned.
