Windows 7

Windows 7 may have been the biggest pre-order of all time over at Amazon.co.uk but it’s not all plain sailing for Microsoft. Two major bugs seem to be hampering users desperate to jump on the Windows 7 bandwagon. Read on for tales of the “endless reboot” hell.

Users attempting to upgrade from the much maligned Windows Vista OS to Windows 7 are reporting being trapped in an endless cycle of system reboots. Not only that but the bug stops you being able to boot back into Windows Vista.

Other users have been hit by an issue dubbed the “62% bug” which finds the Windows 7 installation stalling at 62% complete. Microsoft’s support forums are rapidly filling with users reporting both issues.

Microsoft is advising customers to use WinRE software and either the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disk to transfer as much data as they can to an external disk.

Have you experienced issues with your Windows 7 installation? If you’re still weighing up the pros and cons of opting for Windows 7, read our guide to all you need to know about Windows 7.  Just try not to get caught in an endless reboot when you do.

I’m sticking with Vista 64 Home Basic (Vista without all the extra crap) works perfect, so what’s the point of me using Windows 7?… none.
