htc-heroThe HTC Hero is all set to get a facelift, with Android 2.0 heading to arguably the hottest Google phone going. That’s the word direct from the Taiwanese tech titan, which says Eclair will soon be doing its thing underneath that sleek HTC Sense skin.

Speaking via Twitter, HTC said, “The rumors are true! Hero will be getting an Eclair update. We ask for your patience as we update Sense for the fancy new Android OS.”


Google Maps Navigation: satnav goes free on Android 2.0


It couldn’t be more clear than that. That means the stunning Google Maps Navigation will be doing its thing on the HTC Hero, in the US at least, once Android 2.0 makes its way to the blower.

There’s no timeframe for when we’ll be seeing Android 2.0 on the HTC Hero. But with the Motorola Droid already running the beefed up OS, the wait shouldn’t be too long. Now just keep everything crossed that Google Maps Navigation can get to these shores quick smart.
