Google Maps Navigation, the new free GPS app from the search giant, is one of the biggest bombshells that’s hit planet gadget all year. We’ve brought you pictures and details on just what it can do already, but here’s the company itself to take you through the earth shattering satnav software on video, turn by turn.

Google Maps Navigation was one of the major features of Android 2.0 left out in the official video this morning, but Google’s taken the time to cram together a video walkthrough of the new app. The presentation is a bit cheesy, but you can see just how smoothly it runs for yourself, as well as how voice command works with Google Maps Navigation.

We’re loving the Street View switch over you get as you reach your destination with Google Maps Navigation, so you can find the right house, as well as the car dock mode – you can see how placing the Motorola Droid in one kicks it straight into satnav mode.

Now if only there was some way to try Google Maps Navigation in the UK some time soon. We’re off to apply for a green card, but in the meantime, have a look at how it works right here in the video.
