The launch of the PlayStation video store in the UK is fast approaching, and to tease you all, we’ve got the first screenshot of the Euro-version of it for you. Want to know what the changes are? Have a look right here.
The PlayStation video store, or PlayStation Network video delivery service, as it’s dryly been officially badged as, will launch in the UK, France, Germany and Spain next month, letting you stock up your PS3 and PSP with movies. This shot you see above is how the PlayStation video store will be laid out, and there have been a few subtle tweaks to the version available to PlayStation heads on the other side of the pond.
PlayStation video store: UK launch date revealed
For one thing, the Euro PlayStation video store has had a bit of a rejig on the left hand column, with Anime and other genres relegated to the Categories section, and “HD Only” given a raise. We’re also liking the promise of “Special Offers” too, letting you grab movies for cheap for a short period of time like those DVD dispensing Pop cabinets you see in cinemas.
Finally, the Channels section looks promising: we reckon it might host some of the new “local content” Sony has promised for the different regional PlayStation video stores. Will it all be movies? We’ll wait and see, and be sure to give you a hands-on as soon as the PlayStation video store goes live.

Have to wait for the Netflix streaming application in the UK..
I was talking about this with James just yesterday actually – as a Love-Film subscriber I’m incredibly annoyed at its poor web showing. I’m a bit of a movie guzzler, so I want a subscription model for film watching, rather than pay per view. If you live in the US, Netflix has you covered. Over here, we’re not so lucky, but Sky Player does come with a lot of movies on the Xbox, and it’s out today. Not quite enough movies though in my view. Sort it out Love-Film!
