The NHS is set to give Nintendo Wii Fit Plus its official backing, bigging up the benefits of the balance board game to kids and adults who’d rather sit on their backside than get stuck into exercise.
The sequel to Wii Fit will be able to use the NHS’s Change4Life logo in its advertising. Change4Life is aimed at getting people to exercise and eat healthily, exactly the opposite of the louche lifestyle that the government has said regular computer games encourage.
It could eventually see the Change4Life logo slapped on Wii Fit Plus packaging too. It’s being seen as a positive move, but has raised eyebrows as Nintendo will apparently spend its own cash on promoting the programme.
With the all new Wii Exercise Bike already grabbing headlines, this will be a big coup for Wii Fit Plus when it drops this Friday.

As a regular gym goer etc I find the Wii Fit as health craze thing puzzling. I had an early play of Wii Fit Plus, and as a game though, it’s quite a laugh. £90 worth of laughter? Not sure.
