Sky is steaming ahead with its switch to HD, and to prove just how, it’s given us a few facts and figures, including news that Sky+HD boxes are selling at the rate of one every 30 seconds!
Sky’s just announced today that the number of homes packing a Sky+HD box has now soared to 1.6million, with 287,000 people signing on to get that high-deffy video slung to their flatscreen via satellite between July and September. That’s two Sky+HD boxes sold every minute of every hour of every day.
That’s an impressive stat, but Sky has still got a lot of ground to cover, with 6million Sky+ homes yet to make the upgrade. Will Sky’s 3D service, launching next year for current-gen Sky+HD boxes, help drive it? Time will tell.
