Nokia’s brief statement on the matter is quite vague, so it’s unclear whether Apple hasn’t paid Nokia enough, or stumped up at all, but either way, Nokia isn’t best pleased about it, with Ilkka Rahnasto, vice president of legal and intellectual property, going on record to say “By refusing to agree appropriate terms for Nokia’s intellectual property, Apple is attempting to get a free ride on the back of Nokia’s innovation.”
Ouch. Expect much legal wrangling between the two phone makers over the coming months, if no immediate impact on the cost of an iPhone.
