Mozilla‘s got a brand new platform that aims to make email intelligent, Raindrop. As well as sorting out your emails and picking out the ones which need a reply, it pulls in your Twitter feed, RSS and more. Not dissimilar to Google Wave, is it?
We’ve all been there. You sign up for one newsletter then a travel alert, and before you know it, you’re missing vital messages from your friends in between all the spam. Mozilla Raindrop aims to get round that by automatically grabbing the personal emails and sticking them on the top of the pile, and yanking out any Twitter @replies and DMs so you won’t miss a thing.
Google Wave iPhone app incoming!
Mozilla’s Raindrop plans lack the collaboration skills of Google Wave – for now – but it’s cranking out an API so you can build applications on top of it, and like Google, the Firefox creator is aiming to bring in support for all sorts of social networks and IM clients, including Facebook and FriendFeed.
Mozilla Raindrop is in the very early stages at the moment, but if you know your way around Python, you can download the code to start tinkering with, while Mozzy’s also invited anyone with a head for design to upload what they think it should look like to Flickr, so if you’ve not got that Google Wave invite yet, get involved!
