Belkin is recalling a trio of its TuneBase iPod accessories due to a potential fire risk. Have you picked up a TuneBase bit of car kit since April this year? Here’s what you need to do.
Belkin says it’s found a fire risk caused by a washer that could trigger a short circuit in TuneBase Direct with Hands-Free, TuneBase FM with Hands-Free and TuneBase FM with ClearScan devices sold after 1 April this year. There have been no reports of accidents, but Belkin says that prolonged use in certain conditions could pose a risk, so is recalling and exchanging them.

If you have any of the affected Belkin gear, you can get a replacement free of charge at Belkin’s website, or by calling 00800 223 55460, and if you’re worried you might have, you should stop using it immediately until you’ve checked.
