Google music serviceThe leaks on Google‘s rumoured music service, possibly dubbed Google Audio, keep rolling on through, and now, some early screenshots have popped up, showing just what Google has in mind for its search engine Spotify slayer.

TechCrunch, the site that first reported a Google music service was nearing launch, has published these screenshots of what Google is pitching to major music labels right now. As you can see, typing in the name of a band like U2 would show a picture tile along with four example songs you could stream, then click to buy. It’s a clean and crisp layout, but whether people would buy songs from a search engine rather than from within music apps remains to be seen.

Google preps mystery music service

Google’s music service is supposedly a collaboration with online music services iLike and Lala, and is expected to be revealed on 28 October. iLike was recently snapped up by the struggling MySpace, so if the deal turns out to involve the social network too, don’t be surprised.
