Unboxed: Sony Ericsson Aino

The Sony Ericsson Aino isn’t a true PlayStation phone, but it’s the closest thing to one yet, serving up Remote Play access to your PS3′s hard drive over the airwaves, and we’ve just landed one of our own to fire up and test out. Peep the whole unboxing gallery right here!

It’s been nearly five months since the Sony Ericsson Aino debuted, but the console friendly cellphone is now on sale, so we’d thought we’d take one for a test drive. But as with the Satio, the Sony Ericsson Aino is a cracking multimedia phone. We love the fact that you can instantly bring up multimedia from the lock screen, and the supplied dock is great for lengthy viewing on a desk.

Unfortunately we’ve had a few teething problems connecting to the PS3 just feet away, but we’ll iron out any kinks before bringing you a full Sony Ericsson Aino review sharpish. In the meantime, scope all the photos out right here in our unboxing sesh!

I can’t wait to read the full review here! I do wonder what’s meant with: “it feels odd typing a text message”. I think it’s absolutely great to have both a touchscreen and a slidable keypad which allows for easy dialing. Still the Aino is not the ultimate phone for that Sony Ericsson should have installed a different operating system and should have a function to really play playstation games on your phone.

I say odd because the landscape length screen in portrait slider makes the phone *incredibly* top heavy. When you’re texting, it feels like the Aino is going to topple over the top of your palms – it’s a bizarre sensation I’ve never experienced with any other phone.

I have a nokia 5800, i recently acquired a aino. I like the look and feel of this mobile, however i have some queries. Is the screen really only touch for the media + camera?? can’t this be changed. And What is the operating system used on the aino? There’s lots of mentions towards satio’s s60v5 yet next to 0 mentions of aino? is it a symbian or another U10?? &thinking gps+heloox.
