With the TomTom GO I-90, the Dutch GPS guru has launched a new strategy to stay on top as smartphones encroach on its turf: slotting straight into your car’s dashboard. Read on if you want to know how to get rid of the windscreen sucker for ever.
Bid goodbye to your car stereo: the TomTom GO I-90 not only sits in its place and taps into FM and AM radio, but it guides you around as a proper PND should, with speed camera alerts and TomTom Map Share for correcting on the fly. The TomTom GO I-90 also hooks up to your phone for hands-free calling.
TomTom Start: hands-on photofest!
The TomTom GO I-90 is similar to the Pioneer satnavs we roadtested last year, which slot right into your dash, although it lacks some of the extra multimedia bells and whistles like DVD playback.
The TomTom GO I-90 is out in the UK in December, so for the motorhead in your life it’s shaping up to be the prefect present. There’s no UK price yet, but expect it to be whatever TomTom thinks is a fair translation of €599 (£546).
Out December | £TBC | TomTom
