Abbey Road is heading to The Beatles: Rock Band. The last album recorded by the Fab Four becomes the first downloadable LP for the best-selling game, landing on Xbox Live and the Wii Shop today before heading to the PSN store on Thursday.
Because six tunes from Abbey Road are already on the original The Beatles: Rock Band disc, Harmonix has devised a somewhat confusing way for you to get the complete album. You can nab Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, Oh! Darling and Because as single tracks for 99p.

Alternatively you can get the whole album pack, which comes with those three tracks plus the complete 16-minute medley from the second side of Abbey Road. That costs a whacking £10.46, or 1360 MS points. Sadly, Wii punters don’t get the album pack so will need to pay separately for each tune, with Her Majesty costing 100 Wii points, and all other medley tracks costing 350 Wii points for a pair.
It sure is a bizarre approach, but seeing as we bought The Beatles: Rock Band in order to play the three way guitar dual on The End, we think it’s worth stumping up for.
