The cost of Xbox Live Gold membership is set to rise. That’s the word from chatter-happy analyst Michael Pachter, who reckons it’s only a matter of time before prices start “going up”. So when is the Big M going to start charging you more for playing online?
Well Pachter reckons that, “In a couple of years, it’s 100 bucks a year.” He says that such a rise is part of a “profit deal”, which will make Microsoft money as more Xbox 360 punters get stuck into Xbox Live.
Sky Player on Xbox 360 kicks off on 27 October
At the moment this is just a prediction, with Microsoft keeping quiet about any plans to ask for more cash from its loyal customers for Xbox Live Gold access. However, it’s interesting to hear someone so powerful give his tuppence worth.
Xbox Live Gold costs £39.99 here in Blighty at the moment. The question is, with Facebook, Twitter and Sky all incoming, can that price stay at the same level?
