Every week, we review a new album that you should be nabbing from your favourite download emporium. This week, we’ve slapped on our Dr Dre Monster Beats and got down to the indie musings of the spanking new Twilight: New Moon soundtrack. Read our full Twilight: New Moon soundtrack review now to see whether it’s worth stumping up for.
Twilight: New Moon, the chastity propaganda yawn-fest dressed in a vampire cloak, should really have a soundtrack packed with Snow Patrol and the kind of tedious ballads favoured by Dawson’s Creek’s producers.
But while the movie is as pathetic and pallid as Robert Pattinson’s face suggests, the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack is a parade of pitch-perfect indie.

New songs from Muse and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke nestle on the Twilight: New Moon OST beside contributions from more cultish concerns like Band Of Skulls and Sea Wolf.
Despite a typically dreary contribution from Editors, Twilight: New Moon OST is a gem with an oscillating electronic solo track from Thom Yorke and a breath-taking Bon Iver and St Vincent duet among a slew of excellent songs.
Twilight: New Moon OST is a brilliant soundtrack for an at times tiresome film. Grab it now, close your eyes and imagine your own flick deserving of this collection of illustrious indie.
Twilight: New Moon OST is out today.

Funny you diss the film when it hasn’t even opened yet. Pathetic. I am a huge Twlight book fan, but thought the first movie sucked. From the clips I have seen of NM and reports from the cast and crew, NM seems like it could actually be half decent. Pity you’ve already passed judgement and haven’t even seen it yet.
What is the deal with trashing the movie before it is even out. Your just jumping on the I’ll hate anything thats popular bandwagon. Probably would have hated The Beatles who had hoards of teen girls chasing them when they hit out shores with songs like “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and “Love me Do”. Grow up and quit being so predictable.
Hi guys,
I saw fairly long previews of the film at a couple of comic conventions and just simply didn’t enjoy what I saw. I’ve also read the books and was really not a big fan of the stories as a whole. Fair enough that you both do like the Twilight series. I’m obviously not the right audience for it. This review was more about the soundtrack (which I do like) though obviously I am a bit harsh about the film based on what I’ve seen of it. These things are subjective but I just like my vampire films with a bit more bite.
Cheers,
Mic
I loooove the soundtrack! It will be even better to hear the songs on the big screen, just makes me more excited for the movie! I found this awesome photo gallery of the stars of the soundtrack on and off the stage! http://blogs.msg.com/themonitor/2009/10/19/new-moon-soundtrack-artists-on-and-off-the-stage-photo-gallery/

Anyway.
Regardless of the film or books on all sides, the soundtrack is a wonderful compilation of Indie songs. Very melancholy, swoony tunes. Beautiful sounds to listen to in the car, windows rolled up and the heat on, maybe some hot chocolate to sip at.
Mmm.
This soundtrack is a wonderful addition to any CD collection, DEFINITELY worth the money, and it’s a wonderful way to bask in the oncoming Fall season with a great harvest-y feel.
And before I get flamed, yes, I am a fan of the series, but we’re reviewing the soundtrack, not the movies, or the books.
Hate the books and the movies but i love the ost
