Sky-Songs-1

We had an early preview of Sky Songs last week, and were thoroughly impressed. Today it goes live, so you can take it for a spin yourself!

Think of Sky Songs as an unlimited CD collection: just tap in the artist or song you want to listen to and it’ll stream straight to your web browser. You’ll also get MP3 downloads each month too, so you can download tracks to own.

It’s a subscription-based service, so unlike Spotify you’ll need to fork out a monthly fee to take it for a spin, but to kick things off Sky is offering every Sky Broadband customer a free one month trial.

Stat clash: Spotify v Sky Songs v Napster

It’s also more innovative than other streaming services we’ve seen. From running within a web browser, to let you tap into it at work, to offering recommendations of what you might like to listen to next, Sky Songs has plenty of tricks up its sleeve.

Now you can have a play with it yourself at songs.sky.com, or check out our gallery above to see it in action.

I took a look at it, great website. Too bad it only streams in the UK…

Hate to state the obvious, but the .co.uk sort of hints we’re a UK site :D Dont worry though – there are plenty of services we can’t get over here… I’d kill for a bit of Hulu for a start.
