The e-reader war is heating up to boiling point today: Plastic Logic has just teased us with details of its new e-reader, the Que, with a capacitive touchscreen for iPhone-like response when prodding. Want to know more?
Called the Que proReader, Plastic Logic’s pixel paperback main selling point is its shatterproof capacitive touchscreen, meaning you won’t need a stylus to scroll through chapters as you do with the Sony Reader Touch.
Twin screen reader packs Android
At 8.5×11 inches, the Plastic Logic e-reader is a hefty tome with similar dimensions to the Kindle DX, so it’s ideal for leafing through textbooks and magazines as well as airport thrillers, and it’ll be able to pull books down from the internet shelf over 3G and Wi-Fi. It’s aimed at business bods rather than students though, with Excel support and even editing on the cards too to spreadsheet on the move.
Plastic Logic is giving little beyond the snaps you see here on the Que, but the lavish black book is set to debut at CES in Las Vegas in the new year, so we’ll be on hand to bring you all the snaps and details there and then.
