The Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe is here to take on the picoStick for title of world’s smallest Freeview stick, and we’ve just had a quick hands and eyes-on with the gogglebox dongle. See the photos here!
It’s barely bigger than a twenty pence piece, but the Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe will still pick up Freeview and slap it straight on to your Mac screen, along with a full-on EPG. There is a wee antenna you have to screw on the end, but the whole thing can be easily unscrewed and retracted, so for any MacBook Air or 13-inch owners who lug their machine everywhere they go, it’s ideal for popping in the case alongside.
Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe: Freeview gets thin
Performance-wise, we couldn’t spot any difference compared to previous Elgato offerings or rivals, so downsizing won’t lead to a drop in quality.
The Elgato Eye TV DTT Deluxe is out now, and for any PC users keen to get in on the action, there’s good news too: it runs on Windows 7 too.
