Sky and Microsoft have confirmed that Sky Player on Xbox 360 will officially kick off on 27 October. That means in just a fortnight you’ll be able to invite virtual pals over to watch the self–styled “greatest league in the world”, as well as lay your mitts on a string of on-demand content.
While both tech giants have given Sky Player on Xbox 360 the official nod, neither is coming clean on pricing. An official page on the Xbox website states “full channel-line up and pricing will be confirmed at launch on the 27th.”
Previous reports have suggested you’ll need a standard Sky Player package for it to play nice on your Xbox 360. Either way, there’ll be various packages promising access to news, docs, movies and sports.
Both football and flicks will get special virtual parties where you can invite avatars over and share banter while your team loses or Arnie strafes some baddies. When we went hands on with Sky Player on Xbox 360 at E3, the Premier League on demand feature looked particularly neat.
Will this be a cheaper way to get Sky than your traditional box and dish set up? Time will tell.
