Mac owners, prick up your ears: the Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe has just been announced, promising digital telly streamed straight to your Apple computer or your iPhone, from the “smallest full-featured DVB-T stick available anywhere in the world”. Got anything to say to that, picoStick?
The Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe works in precisely the same way previous versions have done, picking up broadcasts from its tiny antenna, then slapping them upon your Mac’s screen. The difference is, the Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe is now even smaller (barely bigger than the USB plug on a Mac mouse or keyboard), so you can feasibly stick the device in your wallet and make sure you always remember to take it with you.
Elgato iPhone app streams TV from a Mac
The new Elgato iPhone app will work with the Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe, of course, so you can stream pictures from the Elgato EyeTV DTT Delux from your Mac to an iPhone, wherever you are, and it comes bundled with a remote so you can sit back and watch the big screen in comfort when you’re at home.
Handily, the Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe also includes drivers for Windows 7, so everyone can get in on the titchy TV streaming action.
The Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe is on sale now in the UK, Europe and Australia and New Zealand, but anyone with their eye on one across the pond will be disappointed: there are no plans for a US release just yet.
