Acer London Olympic laptops launched

Along with a bunch of new Android and Windows 7 wares, Acer was proudly flashing its sporting credentials as the new Olympics sponsor at its showcase this morning. And to tie in with that, it’s launched some special edition Aspire laptops festooned with the five rings that you’ll be able to buy.

Acer is the official computer sponsor for both the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and London 2012, and to celebrate, it’s given several notebooks an athletic makeover – or at least a new logo on the lid.

Acer Android smartphone: hands-on photos!

Up first is the Acer Aspire 810T, a 14-inch ultra thin Timeline model with a 720p HD, 16:9 display screen for watching movies. If that’s too big, you’ll also be able to pick up an Olympic themed Aspire 1410 11.6-inch netbook. Both come with a polished outer case and the Olympics logo adorning them.

There’s no word on a release date for the Acer Olympic laptop line, but they won’t be in quite the same shape as Usain Bolt come 2012, that’s for sure. Have a look at both close up in our hands-on gallery and see if these are special editions special enough to splash out for.
