Can’t put down your phone? You’re not alone. It turns out it’s not just iPhone maniacs that are obsessed with being constantly connected to their tech. A report from The Future Report and commissioned by Virgin Media reveals that two thirds of UK folk love being connected constantly.
Researchers have even come up with a catchy new term for tech obsessed types – SOSOs (people who switch on to switch off). Apparently it’s not just a love of tech we’ve got but anxiety over being disconnected. Over 35% of people surveyed said they freaked out if they couldn’t stay in touch with friends and family.
It also turns out that SOSOs don’t care if other people are annoyed that they’re always connected. Around a third of those surveyed said they did not feel guilty about always having their phone on or computer beside them.
