It’s a huge u-turn and one that’ll satisfy retro tech heads the world over. Polaroid has confirmed that it’s teaming up with The Impossible Project to bring its classic instant film and instant cameras back to life in 2010. The move means the format which was killed off last year is very much back from the dead.
The Impossible Project has spent the past 12 months working on a new film for old-school Polaroid cameras, even going as far as running the former Polaroid factory in Enschede, Holland.

But today’s news is a real boon for Polaroid fanatics. Polaroid will relaunch classic Polaroid Instant Cameras next year, with The Impossible Project creating Instant Film for the newly minted snappers. Black and white and colour versions are due to land in 2010.
It’s a great day for gadget fans and shows how people power can really work. Here’s looking forward to taking washed out and waxy snaps.
