snow-leopardApple has said it is working on a fix to the OS X Snow Leopard bug which we first reported last week. Cupertino has confirmed that it’s aware of the issue, but that it is “rare”. So what should you do between now and the next firmware update?

The Snow Leopard bug in question deletes users data by setting up a guest account, leaving you to log in as a pal on your own machine while your files and folders are filched off. In a statement on the issue, Apple said, “We are aware of the issue, which occurs in extremely rare cases, and we are working on a fix.”

For now, there’s no word on when the required Snow Leopard fix will land. That means you should be extra vigilant and ensure that you back up all your data as you go.
