Acer has just confirmed its first Windows 7 Aspire One netbook, with plans to get it rolling out from 22 October. The question is, does it move on from the XP-touting models of old? And what other Windows 7 plans has Acer got going on?
The Acer Aspire One D250 will cram in plenty on top of its suave new Windows 7 OS. Unsurprisingly though, these specs are on the vanilla side, with an Intel Atom processor, 160GB HDD, a basic battery life of 3.5 hours and a 1280×720, 10.1-inch screen.

That might sound a tad basic, but Windows 7 promises to offer a significant bump from Windows XP and should make netbooks even more desirable.
UK pricing and a release date is yet to be unveiled, but the Acer Aspire One D250 will be out and about in Japan from 22 October. Acer is holding a special event in London tomorrow, so stay tuned for more Blighty-based details as we get them.
