Motoblur, Motorola’s social network juggling skin for its new Android DEXT phone, looks almost tasty enough to tempt us away from the HTC Hero, but if you’ve got a T-Mobile G1, you might not even need to upgrade. One enterprising Android addict has got Motoblur running on the year old phone already, so read on for the details on the heavenly hack.
The Motorola DEXT is only out this month, but already the Motoblur ROM has popped up online for coders to play with, and one already has it chugging along nicely on the T-Mobile G1, so synced up Twitter and Facebook info flows straight into the homescreen.
Although there are a few niggles, such as missing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Motoblur reportedly works smoothly on HTC’s phone with a bit of app killing via Advanced Task Manager, so if you want to test out the DEXT without even leaving the house, it can be done. HTC Sense or Motoblur? The choice is now yours.
