Got a HTC Magic? Better grab a calendar then: we’ve just got word of when Donut, the next big Android software update, lands on Vodafone’s Google phone. Read on for what to expect and when.
Donut, the upgrade to Google’s Android OS was revealed back in May, and is scheduled to roll out for the HTC Magic from 19 October on Vodafone, the exclusive carrier in the UK.
Along with the revamped Android Market app store, HTC Magic owners will notice a speed improvement on the 3.2 megapixel camera and improved search across both the web, and the HTC Magic’s internal data. There’ll also be quick launch gestures to zip into apps at the flick of a finger, and full text-to-speech abilities in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
That’s good news for any HTC Magic owners getting jealous of spanglier new skinned Android phones hitting the market, and means Google-powered phones continue to improve. Keep your peepers peeled in ten days’ time for the update.
