napsterNapster has slashed the cost of its streaming service, letting punters access millions of tunes for just a fiver a month. For that Spotify Premium–bashing price, you’ll also get 5 MP3s chucked in. So can Napster slap down its cool new competitor? Keep reading for all the details.

The all new Napster Unlimited service has just been officially unleashed. The reformed music bad boy is now offering access to millions of tracks for just £5 a month, with 5 MP3s slung in for good measure. Punters who pay £10 a month will get 12 MP3s. Take that Spotify.


Spotify turns one: what next?


The move means Napster remains ad-free. Napster’s bods told us they thought it would let casual punters in on the act, with a cheap price point. You can either sign up over at Napster’s site now or head to Carphone Warehouse and grab a pre-pay card instead.

You can also download tracks on your mobile too at m.napster.co.uk, with an AAC heading to your blower and an MP3 at home. For now though, that AAC extra isn’t available on the iPhone.
