The BlackBerry Bold 2, known over the web as the BlackBerry 9700 or BlackBerry Onyx, is due to land on 21 October. That’s the word from insiders, who say the rejigged top–end emailer will be announced then, before hitting shelves later this year.
The chaps at Engadget say they have it on “good authority” that the BlackBerry Bold 2 will be hitting US networks on 21 October. With RIM’s love of global releases, you can expect this leather-clad titan to also land in the UK around that date too.

Although specs remain unofficial, in traditional RIM fashion, everything’s already out in the open. The BlackBerry Bold 2 will sport the same trackpad as the excellent BlackBerry Curve 8520, with top end features to match the original.
We’re onto RIM now to sniff out any extras, so stay tuned for more on the BlackBerry Bold 2 as soon as we get them.
