spotifySpotify is one today. The music streaming giant has gone from niche geek play thing to the hottest must-have app in just 12 months. So what next for the darling of iPhone owners and music fans? Keep reading and we’ll tell you what’s what.

On top of that, Spotify is working on new video offerings. While at the moment these are ads, word to the wise is that it could soon move into serving up TV shows and movies without costing you a penny.

However, with Napster far from dead, Nokia Comes With Music already boasting an add-on streaming solution and Sky Songs just around the corner, it could be a tough second year for Spotify.

The changes Spotify has heralded in 2009 have been nothing short of revolutionary. Here’s hoping 2010 will see us watching our favourite shows as well as listening to Cliff Richard’s entire back catalogue. Happy birthday Spotify!
