LaCie just dished out two new hard drives with a slick casing designed by Philippe Starck, as well as some hi-tech features you won’t find in every external USB block. Read on to find out what they do.
Hard drive makers and iPod dock cobblers share a difficult task: coming up with a way to make their gadgets stand out form the crowd. LaCie may have cracked it here, with two new hard drives courtesy of world famous designer Philippe Starck, decked out in thick, protective aluminium.
The mobile version of the LaCie Philippe Starck box doesn’t do much special beyond looking pretty, but the desktop version comes with a touch sensitive surface you can set to launch any application you like with a swipe.
The LacCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive is on sale now in one and two terabyte flavours, and the mobile version in 320GB and 500GB.
