The HTC HD2, or Leo as it was known under its leaked codename, is official at last. This enormous touchscreen slate is packing the new Windows Mobile 6.5 and one slick twist: draped over the top is HTC Sense, its new social networking skin as seen on the Android fuelled Hero!
We spied the HTC HD2, the follow up to the slick Touch HD, out in the wild last month, but now HTC has finally coughed up: as well as the expected giant 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, there’s HTC Sense, which allows you to apply different widgets to different profiles, and slap Twitter straight on your homescreen.
There’s also multitouch on the HTC HD2, a first for Windows Mobile: it’s called Pinch Zoom, and promises similar swift gesture controls to those seen on devices like the iPhone.

Under the bonnet, the HTC HD2 is packing an ultra fast 1GHz processor, plus it’s kitted out with the standard smartphone bobbins like 3G and Wi-Fi. There’s also a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, 3.5mm audio for your own cans and even an optional car kit to turn the HTC HD2 into a satnav.
iPhone-responsive screen? HTC Sense? We don’t want to wait, but we’ll have to: the HTC HD2 will be out later this month, but get a first look here in our official photo gallery!
