SpotifySpotify, the music streaming service of the gods, has proved so popular that the Swedes have had to lock it down and stop new sign ons in recent months. Itching to get on board the free music train but can’t bag an invite? No to worry: you can now buy one on eBay instead.

Spotify, which claims more than 6 million users across Europe, is invite only right now, so while you’re best blagging an entry off a clued in mate, for any hermits with a broadband connection, eBay is now the best way in.

Head on over to the auction site and you’ll spot several Spotify invites for sale in the UK, as well as more from Swedish and Spanish streamers too. We’ve yet to confirm they’re legit, but at 99p each they don’t scream FAKE like a £10 PlayStation 3.

Bear in mind that eBay could clamp down on this at any point, so if you’re keen to try out Spotify for the first time (really though, where have you been?), you’d better start bidding now.

I got an account by visiting the following page – it bypasses the need for an invite: https://www.spotify.com/en/get-started/

In that case Tim you might have just discovered a licence to print money!

That’s an immense spot Tim! No wonder no-one was bidding on the invites – mind you it’s pretty daft to do that rather than just sell them as Buy It Now anyway.

Hello! I like Spotify, can not give invitations, thank you.

Just bought an invite. Up and running and listing to a rousing rendition of Sanitarium (metallica) played on the harp.
